The things people ask first.
Does the person tapping need to install anything?
No. Every modern iPhone and Android reads our tags and opens the link in the browser. On iPhone a short notification appears first, then it opens. Every item also carries a printed QR code as a fallback.
Can I change what the card does after it is printed?
Yes, any time, as often as you like. The chip holds one locked link that never changes. What sits behind that link is edited from your dashboard, so a new job or a new event does not mean a new card.
Do I have to set anything up when it arrives?
Only if you want to. Order one or two and the first tap opens a claim page where you sign in and pick what it does, in about two minutes. Order for a team with a names list and we set up every item before it ships.
What happens if I lose a card?
Pause it from the dashboard and the link stops resolving immediately. Nothing personal sits on the chip itself, so a lost card is a lost piece of plastic, not lost data.
Do tap cards work on iPhone?
Yes. Every iPhone from the XR on reads a tap card with nothing installed, and so does any recent Android. Older phones use the QR code printed on the same item.
Can I lock a card so nobody can change it?
The chip is written once and locked by default, so nobody can point it somewhere else. Where it sends people lives in your dashboard, which only you can change. You can also put a passcode on an item, so a visitor types it before anything opens.
How many can I order?
One card, or a few thousand. Cards and stands start at one, keychains at ten, stickers at twenty five, wristbands at fifty, badges at a hundred. Every piece can carry a different name.
Can I resell these under my own brand?
Yes. Open a store with your own logo, colors and products at gotapspeed.com/s/your-store. Customers order there under your name, and we handle production and shipping. Setting your own prices and payouts is coming soon; until then every order gets a proof and a quote.
Can schools track attendance?
Not yet, it is coming soon. Today schools order student and staff ID cards and manage them from their own space. Attendance with a gate reader and parent emails is the next thing we are building.
